Zamalek are set for a crucial domestic clash with continental implications when they visit Al Masry on Sunday evening at the New Suez Stadium, as the two sides battle for top spot in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The match, part of the fourth round of the group stage, kicks off at 9:00 p.m. local time and comes with significant stakes for both Egyptian clubs as qualification ambitions intensify.

Zamalek enter the encounter aiming to seize the group lead from their direct rivals. The Cairo-based side currently sit second in the standings with five points, collected from one win and two draws.

Victory would see them overtake Al Masry and take control of the group heading into the final rounds.

Al Masry, meanwhile, have enjoyed a strong run under Tunisian head coach Nabil El Kouki and currently lead Group D with seven points, having secured two wins and one draw.

The Port Said club will be looking to build on their momentum and maintain their position at the summit.

The previous meeting between the two teams ended in a goalless draw at Borg El Arab Stadium during the third round, setting the stage for what is expected to be a tense and closely contested rematch.

Zamalek receive a significant boost with the return of veteran playmaker Abdallah El Said, who has been named in the squad after a lengthy absence due to injury.

His availability is expected to add creativity and experience to the White Knights’ midfield.

The match will be officiated by an Algerian refereeing team led by Lutfi Bekouassa, assisted by Hamza Bouzit and Yassine Ouard Ben Salama, with Houssam Ben Yahia serving as the fourth official.
