Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal made his second and third substitutions in the 85th minute, bringing on Ahmed Sherif for Oday Dabbagh and Ahmed Rabie for Ahmed Fatouh in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final against USM Alger at the July 5 Stadium in Algiers.
Zamalek's starting lineup was as follows:
Goalkeeper: Mahdi Soliman.
Defense: Ahmed Fatouh, Mahmoud Hamdi "El Wensh", Hossam Abdel Meguid, Mohamed Ismail.
Midfield: Mohamed Shehata, Abdallah El Said, Adam Kayed.
Attack: Mahmoud Bentayj, Oday Dabbagh, Chico Banza.
The substitutes were: Mohamed Awad, El Sayed Osama, Mohamed Ibrahim, Ahmed Abdel Rahim "Esho", Ahmed Rabie, Juan Bezerra, Ahmed Sherif, Seif El Geziri, and Nasser Mansi.
