Zamalek Hold Goalless Draw Vs. MC Alger in CAF CL Group Stage Opener

Zamalek held on Friday a goalless draw against MC Alger in CAF Champions League opening match of the Group stage to drop their first two points in their adventure to claim the title.

Despite massive chances, which the White Knights made, they failed to secure the victory.

Zamalek came close to opening the scoring after only four minutes, when Ahmed Sayed Zizo fired a left-foot shot, denied by the goalkeeper.

Three minutes later, Emam Ashour powered another shot, which went so close to the left bar.

In the 30th minute, Ashour showed up once again as he shot from a very close range, saved by MC Alger's defender from the line of the goal.

Substitute Ashraf Bencharki fired an excellent shot in the 73rd, but the goalkeeper showed up once again to deny it.
