Egypt's Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi revealed on Saturday that Zamalek's former footballer star Ahmed Ramzy has donated some of his properties to combat coronavirus.
During a phone call, Ramzy told the Egyptian minister that he would donate some of his properties to Tahya Masr Fund, which opened up the account number 037037 in all Egyptian banks for donations to fight COVID-19.
The former Pharaohs footballer star said that this decision came in the light of the efforts, exerted by the Egyptian state to contain the spread of the virus.
On his part, the Egyptian minister praised Ramzy's decision.
It is worth mentioning that, the Health Ministry said on Saturday nine new coronavirus cases were detected, all of them are Egyptians, who were in contact with other positive cases.
“This upped the total number of confirmed cases to 294,” Khaled Megahed, the ministry’s spokesman, said in a statement.
“All positive cases were quarantined at hospitals and they are all stable,” he added.
Two more deaths were confirmed, raising the total number to 10.
The new fatalities were a 68-year-old Egyptian woman and a 75-year-old man. Both of them are from Giza governorate.
“Up to 41 coronavirus patients have totally recovered so far,” the spokesman said.
