Hashtag “Zamalek-ES Tunis” went viral on Twitter ahead of the White Knights’ most-awaited encounter against ES Tunis in the CAF Champions League.
The CAF Champions League holders are set to host the White Knights later today at Rades Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Twitterers circulated the hashtag “Zamalek-ES Tunis” in Egypt, calling for the White Knights’players to repeat their victory over the Champions League holders and qualify for the semi-final.
The Whites secured a 3-1 victory over the Tunisian side in the first leg last Friday at Cairo Stadium, in the presence of 30,000 fans.
Zamalek qualified for the knockout phase after coming second in their group, while the Tunisian side qualified for the last 8 as Group E winners.
On Friday, February 14, Zamalek managed to thrash the CAF Champions League holder 3-1 to claim their fourth CAF Super Cup title.
