Zamalek made an ideal start to the CAF Champions League by demolishing Decadaha with unanswered seven goals at Burj Al-Arab Stadium on Friday.

Zamalek's forward Achraf Bencharki opened the scoring after only three minutes when he converted from the penalty spot.

Decadaha defender's own goal doubled the Whites' lead after forward Bencharki fired in a fairly innocuous low cross that the defender seemed certain to clear, but he got himself in a muddle and shanked it back into his own net from six yards.

Omar El-Saeed cemented his side’s lead when the White Knights' midfielder Shikabala delivered a perfect cross to El-Saeed, who finished it off to add the third goal.

Mahmoud Hamdi Al-Wensh added the fourth goal in the 50th minute before Bencharki scored the fifth after he unleashed a right-foot shot from Decadaha's penalty area.

Zamalek's new signing Karim Bambo added the sixth to his side after he fired a right-foot shot from the outside of the box before striker Mustafa Mohamed hit Decadaha's net with the seventh goal.

Zamalek will play the second leg against Decadaha on Friday, August 23.

In May, Zamalek won the Confederation Cup for the first time in their history after securing a victory in a dramatic penalty shootout against RS Berkane at Burj Al Arab Stadium (5-3). The Whites failed to claim the Egyptian Premier League this season as they finished second with 72 points.
