Zamalek SC were crowned champions of the 2025-2026 Egyptian Premier League after defeating Ceramica Cleopatra FC 1-0 on Wednesday night at Cairo International Stadium in the final round of the title race.
The victory lifted Zamalek to 56 points, securing the league title officially, while Ceramica Cleopatra finished fourth with 44 points.
Palestinian striker Adi Dabbagh scored the decisive goal in the eighth minute after taking advantage of a defensive mistake and calmly finishing past the goalkeeper to give Zamalek an early lead.
Ceramica Cleopatra responded with continuous attacking pressure in search of an equalizer, but Zamalek maintained defensive discipline throughout the match.
In the fifth minute, defender Rajab Nabil cleared a dangerous chance from Chico Banza to prevent Zamalek from opening the scoring earlier in the game.
Midfielder Abdallah El Said received a yellow card in the first half following a strong challenge as the match became increasingly competitive.
At the beginning of the second half, Chico Banza thought he had doubled Zamalek’s lead, but the referee disallowed the goal because of a foul during the buildup.
Ceramica Cleopatra were handed a major opportunity to level the score in the 53rd minute after being awarded a penalty following a challenge involving goalkeeper Mohamed Awad. However, Awad produced an important save to deny Ahmed Belhaj from the spot before the rebound was sent wide.
Zamalek later introduced Nasser Mansi to strengthen the attack as the team defended its narrow advantage during the closing stages of the match.
The final whistle sparked celebrations among Zamalek players and supporters as the club secured one of the most important domestic titles after a highly competitive season.
