Zamalek Crowned Egypt Cup Champions

Zamalek won their second Egypt Cup title in a row and their 27th domestic trophy overall after defeating Pyramids on Sunday at Borg Al Arab stadium (3-0).

The White Knights' forward Obama opened the scoring when he received an excellent cross from Shikabala to plant the ball into El-Shenawy's net in the 52nd minute.

The Whites' forward Achraf Bencharki doubled the scoring when right-back Hamdi Naguez delivered a perfect cross and Bencharki's header planted the ball into the net in the 62nd minutes. Bencharki added the third goal for his side to seal the victory in the 84th minute

Zamalek was so close to taking the lead after only eleven minutes when Ferjani Sassi made use of Keeper El-Shenawy's mistake after he unleashed a shot from Pyramids' penalty area following an excellent cross from shikabala. Four minutes later, Shikabala fired a left-foot shot, which was denied by El-Shenawy.

Pyramids' keeper brought into action again in the 31st minute as his save denied Sassi's header. Pyramids' midfielder Ibrahim Hassan fired a left-foot shot, denied by Zamalek's keeper Awad in the 37th minute.

The White Knights qualified for the final game of Egypt Cup after beating Al Ittihad Alexandria by Mostafa Mohamed’s late goal, which was decisive to book the Whites’ place in the final encounter. Whereas Pyramids advanced to this clash after defeating Petrojet with unanswered two goals
