Egyptian Premier League champions Zamalek have been banned from signing new players in the next two transfer windows as punishment due to debts.

Since the removal of Mortada Mansour and his board, all of Zamalek’s financial issues have been exposed as the club’s debts have become public.

The head of the first normalization committee that took charge of the club, Ahmed El-Bakry, had previously revealed that they were over EGP1 billion in debt. These came in the form of EGP150 million as legal cases debts and 35 million as debts towards the Egyptian Football Association.

Adding to that, they had EGP73 million unpaid loans for the last and the current financial years.
