Dr. Zahi Hawass, the renowned Egyptologist, has revealed the reasons behind the establishment of the "Zahi Hawass Foundation for Archaeology and Heritage." Hawass explained that the foundation will have multiple objectives that it will work towards achieving.

He announced, "In September, a large-scale campaign will be launched by the foundation to repatriate Egyptian artifacts currently held abroad, with a particular focus on the bust of Nefertiti housed in the Berlin Museum in Germany."

Hawass added, "International laws often oppose the return of smuggled Egyptian artifacts. Therefore, the foundation aims to preserve heritage and archaeology, continue excavation work in Luxor and Saqqara, uncover the secrets of ancient Egyptian civilization, and enhance archaeological and cultural awareness among children and youth. We will also offer lectures for citizens across all governorates."

Additionally, the Zahi Hawass Foundation will demand the return of the Nefertiti bust, the Rosetta Stone, and the celestial globe from abroad, and relocate them to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Hawass emphasized that the foundation's activities will commence in September with the launch of a significant popular campaign aimed at repatriating smuggled Egyptian artifacts. Furthermore, the foundation will work on raising public awareness of Egyptian civilization among citizens.
