Yousra Joins Oscar’s Jury with Adele, Lady Gaga

The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced selecting of 842 members from 59 countries to participate in the annual Oscar Awards jury at its 92nd version.

The Academy revealed on its official website، choosing 3 Egyptian members، including Yousra on the list of actors، director Amr Salama on the directors' list، and producer Mohamed Hefezi، president of the Cairo Film Festival.

Salama said on his Facebook account that he has become officially a member of the Academy of Cinematography (the academy grants the Oscar awards).

It is worth to mention that Salama directed a film named” Sheikh Jackson” in 2017 and was nominated then to the Oscar of the 90th version.

On the otherhand, Hefizi said that he is delighted to be an official member of the American Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The Academy declared on Monday that the two international women singers، Lady Gaga and Adele، will join the jury of the 92nd annual Academy Awards announced next in February.

The song "Shallow" by Lady Gaga from "A Star is Born" won the Oscar for best song at the 2019 Oscar.

Other Arab names include producer Karim Amer، Yemeni director، Khadija Al-Salami.

Four Lebanese people join the jury of the American academy. They are designer Hussein Beyhdoun، director of photography Christopher Aoun، cartoonist Rani Naamani، producer George Choucair and director Nigla Moumen.
