The Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, warned of the dangers of the sinking or explosion of the oil tanker "SAFER", which broke offshore the Yemeni coasts.

Al-Eryani indicated that a human, economic and environmental disaster may take place next to the south western coasts, stressing that the envisioned catastrophe exceeds by hundreds of times the explosion of Beirut Port, occurred on Tuesday.

Al-Eryani said: "The massive explosion in Beirut port, its consequences and catastrophic damage to the Lebanese environment and economy, reminds us of the time bomb of the" Safer oil tanker "anchored off Ras Issa port in the Red Sea, which the Houthi militia uses as a card for pressure and extortion."

The minister pointed out that the Houthi group, which is also known as "Ansar Allah" has evaded and prevented the maintenance or emptying of the "SAFER" oil tank, which contains more than a million barrels, without regard to the risks resulting from the leakage or explosion of the tanker on civilian lives, infrastructure, economy and environmental damage to Yemen and the region.

The minister appealed to the international community to intervene and put pressure on the rebel group, and quickly work to stop the risks of a leaking oil tanker, drowning or explosion before the time runs out.
