Egyptian actress Yasmin Raeis' upcoming TV series for the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon has received a title.
It is set to be filmed under the title, "Qatl Ikhtiyari".
The drama is written by Mohamed Al-Souri and tackles the challenges and concerns of mothers with children with Down syndrome.
Moreover, Raeis is also participating in the drama marathon with season 2 of the TV series “Judar: Alf Lela W Lela".
The reimagining was initially set to screen in Ramadan 2023 but has been postponed for 2024 due to the many preparations the series required and the long shooting schedule. Later, the series landed a release date for Ramadan over two consecutive years.
“Judar: Alf Lela W Lela" is a reimagining of the classic tale of Shahryar and Scheherazade.
The cast also includes Yasmine Rais, Nour, Ahmed Maher, Tara Emad, Mayan El Sayed, Mohamed Riyad, Mohamed El Tagy, Ahmed Bedier, Abdelaziz Makhyoun, Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Wafaa Amer, Ayten Amer, Mohamed Ali Rezk, and more.
The reimagining features Galal as Shahryar, Rais as Scheherazade, El Tagy as Qamar Al-Zaman, Hanady Mehanna as a mermaid, and Ahmed Badir as a noble of Morocco.
The series is scripted by Anwar Abdel-Mugheeth, directed by Islam Khairy, and produced by Media Hub and Aroma.
“Judar: Alf Lela W Lela" was the largest production to participate in the drama marathon.
Raeis, born in Cairo in 1985, made her acting debut in the 2010 TV series "Ard Khas" (Special Screening).
She is best known for her roles in films "X Large", "Wahid Saheeh", "Al-Maslaha", "Soni'a Fi Misr", "Fatat Al Masna", "Hepta: El Mohadra El Akhyra", and "Al-Bahth An Um Kalthoum".
Raeis collaborated with director Mohamed Khan in the 2013 film "Fatat Al Masna"(Factory Girl) in a leading role, which drew a lot of attention and won her several awards including the "Best Actress Award" from the Dubai International Film Festival.
