Yasmin Raeis Opens Up about Next Film

Actress Yasmin Raeis announced on Twitter her new film, which she kept tight-lipped on its details, however, she did reveal the role she will be playing.

Raeis announced that she will be playing the mother of 13-years-old Youssef Sameh El-Araby, who was accidentally shot in 2017 and later succumbed to his wounds.

“Marwa Kenawy, a true hero and fighter. I have never met her, but I will play her character in a film.” She tweeted on Twitter.

El-Araby was struck down in the head by a silent gunshot during an outing with his friends in the city of 6 October, as a result of a gun being shot at a wedding.

The gunman had also injured another, a girl named Doaa, 22, who happened to be in the shooting area by coincidence.

El-Araby passed away on May 29, 2017, after he had been in a coma for almost two weeks.

The tragedy sparked shock as well as solidarity on social media.

Moreover, Raeis’s latest film “Lis Bagdad” (The Thief of Baghdad), the release date has been revealed, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on January 15.

Lis Bagdad also stars Mohamed Emam, Salah Abdallah, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Amina Khalil, Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, Ahmed Rizk, and others.

The film is written by Tamer Ibrahim, directed by Ahmed Khaled Mousa, and produced by Synergy films.

Film “Lis Bagdad” is a comedy adventure genre that revolves around a group of people searching for a lost treasure.

The film is Raeis’s first action-comedy role, which she appears in it in a different way than the audience is used to.

It is worth mentioning that Raeis, born in Cairo in 1985, is an Egyptian actress and former model.

She is best known for her roles in films “Wahid Saheeh”, “Al-Maslaha”, “Soni’a Fi Misr”, “Fatat Al Masna”, “Hepta: El Mohadra El Akhyra”, and “Al-Bahth An Um Kalthoum”.

Raeis made her acting debut in 2010 TV series “Ard Khas” (Special Screening) and later participated in several films such as “X Large”, “A Whole One”, and “The Benefit”.

She collaborated with director Mohamed Khan in film “Fatat Al Masna”(Factory Girl) in a leading role, which drew a lot of attention and won her several awards including the “Best Actress Award” from Dubai International Film Festival.
