Club Brugge have completed the signing of Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Inter Milan, the Belgian club announced on Monday.
The 36-year-old has signed a deal that will keep him at Club Brugge until June 2029, bringing an end to his three-year spell with the Serie A giants.
Sommer arrives in Belgium after an accomplished career across Europe, having made 94 appearances for the Switzerland national team.
He began his professional journey with Basel, following an early spell at Vaduz, before becoming the club's first-choice goalkeeper.
The veteran shot-stopper later enjoyed eight seasons as Borussia Mönchengladbach's undisputed No. 1 before joining Bayern Munich midway through the 2022-23 campaign.
He moved to Inter Milan later that year, where he established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper before deciding to embark on a new challenge in Belgian football.
Sommer's arrival strengthens Club Brugge's squad with one of Europe's most experienced goalkeepers ahead of the 2026-27 season.
