Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially launched its first permanent retail store in Japan, marking a strategic push to strengthen its presence in the competitive Japanese market.

The store, located in Aeon Mall Urawamisono in Saitama near Tokyo, opened on Saturday to an enthusiastic response, with over 100 customers lining up to explore Xiaomi’s range of products.

The company, which operates approximately 15,000 stores worldwide, plans to open five to ten more locations across Japan by the end of the year.

Xiaomi’s new outlet showcases over 160 products, including smartphones, televisions, vacuum cleaners, and kitchen appliances. By providing hands-on experiences, the brand aims to attract Japanese consumers with its innovative technology and competitive pricing.

A 32-year-old customer who visited the store expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to test a smartphone before purchasing, highlighting the advantage of experiencing features like the camera firsthand.

During the store’s opening ceremony, Xiaomi’s general manager for East Asia operations reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Japan.

He emphasized that Xiaomi aims to bring its cutting-edge technology to more consumers, making innovation both accessible and enjoyable.
