The President of the National Wrestling Federation Maj. Gen. Essam Nawar commented on the decision of referring him to the Public Prosecution.
Nawar wondered about the latest trending news regarding the federation’s responsibility for the circumstances that led to the escape of the player "Ahmed Bagdouda" from the camp mission in Tunisia, during his participation in the activities of the African Championship.
He added that this news is unacceptable because the federation is not guilty, adding that many national team players escaped and this procedure was not taken.
The official highlighted that Egypt's delegation consisted of 52 players, and they managed to win 68 medals: 44 gold, 18 silver, and 6 bronze.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi confirmed the referral of the Wrestling Federation to the Public Prosecution regarding the federation’s responsibility of the circumstances that led to the escape of the player "Ahmed Bagdouda" from the camp mission in Tunisia, during his participation in the activities of the African Championship.
The minister indicated that a ministerial committee was formed to discuss the crisis the player escape.
