World Youth Forum in Eyes of Arab, Int'l Media

As the third edition of the World Youth Forum is taking place in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, international media means have highlighted activities of the forum. 

The World Youth Forum was officially launched on Saturday. It’s expected to remain until Tuesday in the South Sinai’s city.

According to a statement released by the State Information Service (SIS) on Sunday, Arab media outlets spotted light on Sisi’s call to stop gender, religion and ethnic discrimination. 

According to the London-based Asharq Al Awsaat newspaper, more than 7000 inspiring young men attended the forum. 

The Arab-pan paper’s reports covered almost all news pieces of the forum. The paper published speeches given by Sisi, UNIDO Director General Li Yong and the secretary general of the United Nations. 

Al-Siyasah and Al-Anbaa newspapers published features about Sisi’s bike ride hours before the opening ceremony, in addition to the Egyptian president’s meetings with international and regional figures on the sidelines of the forum. 

The Kuwaiti papers stressed that youth are the fourth power that can build the future.

For the U.A.E. Al-Ettihad newspaper, it reported many short interviews with foreign participants attending the four-day forum. The paper quoted comments of an Italian young girl as saying that she is happy to attend the forum; hoping more foreign youth can take part in future editions.

Al-Bayan newspaper published a report about Sharm El Sheikh and described it as one of the best destinations for tourists. 

Abu Dhabi News Network broadcast a TV report highlighting inspiring experiences of some participants.

Umm Kulthum Performs in World Youth Forum

Jordan Times website reported about the participation of Crown Prince Abdullah in the forum and described the event as a “site where young people can send messages of peace and love to the entire world based on dialogue for a better future.

China Network and china.org published more than one reports covering the forum’s activities in its second day. 

Cameroon Radio and Television disclosed that nearly 20 Cameroon’s nationals are attending the forum currently.

Africa Gate website lauded Sisi’s keynotes during the opening ceremony, most notably his shaking hands with Zein Youssef, a 12-year old cancer fighter.
