The Egyptian Football Association set September 1 as the new start date for the upcoming Women’s Football League season, instead of the previously proposed date of August 22.
The new season of the Women’s Football League will feature 17 clubs:
Al Ahly, Zamalek, Wadi Degla, Arab Contractors, Aviation, ENPPI, National Bank, ZED, Palm Hills, Masar, SAK FC, Ra’a, Modern Sport, Itihad Basyoun, Pyramids, Al Masry, and El Gouna.
The opening week fixtures are as follows:
National Bank vs. Ra’a
Al Ahly vs. Aviation
El Gouna vs. ENPPI
Al Masry vs. Itihad Basyoun
Modern Sport vs. Masar
Zamalek vs. Palm Hills
Wadi Degla vs. Arab Contractors
ZED vs. Pyramids
SAK FC: bye
The draw also revealed that Zamalek will face Al Ahly in rounds 12 and 29 of the Premier League season.
Masar won the Women’s League title last season, while Al Ahly claimed the Egypt Cup, defeating Wadi Degla in the final.
