The path to the semi-finals saw Al Ahly secure a 1-0 victory away at Simba SC’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, thanks to a goal by Ahmed Nabil 'Koka'. The return leg at Cairo Stadium ended with a 2-0 win for Al Ahly, featuring goals from Amr El-Sulaya and Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel Monem.

On the other side, TP Mazembe reached the semi-finals after a challenging tie against Angola’s Petro Atletico. The first leg in Congo ended in a goalless draw, but Mazembe clinched their advancement with a 2-1 victory in the second leg in Angola.
