Wimbledon 2024 Women's Contests Witness Major Upsets

The last 48 hours were on fire as a lot of unexpected and major upsets shocked the realms of the Wimbledon 2024 women's contests. 

Starting with the most recent event, the Russian Yulia Putintseva, No. 35, eliminated world's No.1 Iga Swiatek from the round of last 32 in a trilling match that was extended to a third set. 

In the same context, last year's finalist and the only one in this generation to reach the final of Wimbledon back to back (2022-2023) Ons Jabeur was eliminated by No.21 Elina Svitolina.

Earlier, the world's No. 9 Maria Sakkari was eliminated by the superstar of this tournament Emma Raducanu who is impressing everyone in this tournament to reach the next round of the grass-courted grand slam.

Last Tuesday, the title holder Markéta Vondroušová was eliminated from the first round of the tournament by No. 83 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. 

For the round of 16, only 3 players of the top 10 are still in the tournament: World's No.2 Coco Gauff, World's No.4 Elena Rybakina, and World's No.7 Jasmine Paolini.
