Dr. Richard Brennan, Regional Emergency Program Director at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, said during a press conference on the health emergency in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, we expect further escalation of the conflict in Lebanon, and we have used artificial intelligence to monitor and plan for future escalation of the crisis.

Dr. Hamed Jafari, Director of the Polio Eradication Program at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, confirmed that there is an outbreak of the second type of polio in Gaza, as a result of the spread of sewage in the streets due to the war, and unclean drinking water, and we are trying to vaccinate children and provide vaccinations in Gaza.

He added, "The sewage system is destroyed as a result of the collapse of the roads, which leads to the spread of diseases such as dehydration and watery diarrhea. We must rely on reliable sources, which do not exist in Gaza. There are 100,000 cases of infectious diseases, more than 100,000 cases of scabies, lice and chickenpox, and 100,000 cases of jaundice or yellowing as a result of the spread of sewage and the lack of a suitable environment. He stressed that many of those infected do not respond to treatment with antibiotics.
