The World Health Organization (WHO) expected on Wednesday, that the acute phase of the Coronavirus pandemic could end next 2022, but the virus will not disappear.

"The acute phase of the pandemic could end in 2022, but the virus will not go away," said Mike Ryan, Director of WHO Health Emergencies Programs, during a press conference today.

It is worth mentioning that, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stressed that ending the Coronavirus pandemic across the world requires vaccinating 70% of the planet’s population, stressing the need to put an end to “vaccine nationalism.”

In an article he wrote for the Russian newspaper “Izvestia” published hours ago, Ghebreyesus said: “We have to end the pandemic. This requires that all countries achieve, through joint action until mid-2022, the global goal of vaccinating 70% of the world’s population.”
