WHO Representative in Palestine Calls for Humanitarian Ceasefire

Dr. Richard peeperkorn, the World Health Organization representative in Palestine said that the death toll of the Israeli attacks on Gaza to 7028, in addition to 18482 injured.

During the weekly UN press briefing, Peeperkorn expressed that there is a desperate need in the entry of food, fuel, and medical aid in Gaza, in addition to applying a humanitarian ceasefire. 

He also called for protecting the civilians and facilitate the mission of medical teams. 

The WHO official added that hospitals in Gaza are starving for fuel to make sure of helping all patients who suffer from life-threatening disease. 

Only 23 hospitals out of 35 are working, but their services are threatened due to the shortage of fuel. 

Peeperkorn highlighted that 75 attacks against Gaza are documented by the WHO, including the death of 16 medical staff members.

30 medical staff members injured, 24 ambulances, and 34 medical entity were damaged.
