WHO: Official Data Indicate Decrease in Corona Deaths

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that nearly 3.8 million people were infected with the Coronavirus in the world during the past week, and more than 47,000 people died.

The UN  organization stated in the Epidemiological Bulletin today, Wednesday, that the number of new infections remained unchanged from the previous seven days, while the number of deaths decreased by 10%.

In its report, the World Health Organization said: "Overall, the number of infections remained unchanged this week (22-28 November), with nearly 3.8 million new confirmed cases reported, which is the same as the previous week."

The epidemiological bulletin of the organization pointed out that "at the same time, the number of new deaths during the past seven days decreased by 10% compared to the previous week when 47,5 thousand deaths were reported."

Europe accounts for 70% of weekly cases and 61% of deaths, while it monitored an increase in injuries by 7%, while the death rate decreased by 2%.

A significant increase in infections was recorded in Africa with 93% and the Western Pacific by 24%, while the number of cases was significantly lower last week in  North America with 24% and in Southeast Asia by 11%.

The death rate rose in Southeast Asia by 26%, in Africa by 7%, but decreased in America by 36%, and in the eastern Mediterranean by 8%.

According to the data contained in the bulletin, from November 22 to 28, 3799878 injuries were detected, and 47,524 deaths were recorded in the world.

The United States of America (USA) recorded the largest number of infections in a week (464,800), followed by Germany (406754), Britain (303,347), Russia (239215), and France (190402).

WHO notes that the Delta strain, which continues to dominate the world, has been identified in 99.8% of analyzes over the past 60 days.
