Coordinator of strategic communications in the US National Security Council John Kirby reiterated that the US administration does not intend to send troops to Ukraine.

"Even if the fighting continues there for a longer period, the US administration does not intend to send troops to Ukraine," Kirby said Thursday.

Asked how long the fighting in Ukraine could last, Kirby said: "I don't think anyone can give an exact answer." But he recalled earlier statements made by the US side that "the conflict could be long."

Kirby added, when asked, will the possibilities of conflict between the United States and Russia escalate if the war is prolonged?, "President (Joe Biden) was very clear when he said that our forces will not be involved in the fighting in Ukraine, and what we will do is helping Ukraine defend itself," he said.
