When is the day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha 2024?

Astronomical calculations prepared by the Sun Research Laboratory at the National Institute for Astronomical Research indicate that the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah is born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly 2:39 pm local Cairo time on Thursday 29 Dhul-Qi’dah 1445 AH corresponding to 6/6/2024 AD.

According to astronomical calculations, the new crescent will be in the sky of Mecca for 11 minutes, in Cairo for 18 minutes, and in the governorates of Egypt, the new crescent will be in their skies for periods ranging between 12-20 minutes.

The beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 AH will be astronomically on Friday, 6/7/2024 AD, the Arafat stop for the year 1445 AH will be astronomically on Saturday, 6/15/2024 AD, and Eid Al-Adha for the year 1455 AH will be astronomically on Sunday 6/16/2024 AD.
