The Swiss Football Association confirmed on Friday that Al Ahly head coach René Weiler is not among the candidates for Switzerland's national team hot managerial seat.
Some of Switzerland's newspapers reported that Weiler could be among the candidates to succeed the current manager Vladimir Petković.
" We do not care about the reports made by media or newspapers. Petković has a contract with us and there are no candidates to succeed him," the Media center of the Swiss FA.
Egypt's Al Ahly appointed Weiler as a new head coach on Saturday, August 31 following the Uruguayan coach Martin Lasarte, who was sacked after the Red Devils' elimination from the Egyptian Cup competition as they lost 1-0 to Pyramids.

The Swiss coach made an ideal start with the Egyptian Premier League champions as he secured the victory in his first five games with the Red Devils.
Weiler guided Al Ahly to qualify for the last 16 of the CAF Champions League after smashing Cano Sport with six clean goals on aggregate.

He also led the eleven-time African Champions to attain the Egyptian League leadership after getting nine points in their first three rounds of the league.
Al Ahly secured their three Egyptian League victories over Smouha (1-0), Entag El-Harby (4-0), and Aswan (5-1).
