The General Authority for Meteorology has announced the expected end date of the severe cold wave affecting the country, which peaked on Sunday and Monday, bringing minimum temperatures in Cairo down to 9°C.
The Meteorological Authority indicated that Tuesday will be the last day of the severe cold wave. Starting Wednesday, February 26, a slight and gradual increase in temperatures is expected across most areas, with an increase ranging between 2 to 4°C.
On Monday, the cold wave persists, with cold weather during the day and very cold conditions at night across most regions.
Maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez is expected to be disrupted, with wind speeds ranging between 50 to 70 km/h and wave heights reaching 2.5 to 4 meters.
There is a chance of light to moderate rain on the northeastern coasts and light rain over northern Lower Egypt, accompanied by active winds across most parts of the country.
The Meteorological Authority has provided the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today as follows:
Cairo: 16°C (high) / 9°C (low)
Alexandria: 16°C / 10°C
Marsa Matruh: 14°C / 8°C
Sohag: 19°C / 7°C
Qena: 21°C / 9°C
Aswan: 21°C / 11°C
