We publish the names of the martyrs of the Bahr al-Baqar massacre on its 54th anniversary

Today, April 8th, marks the 54th anniversary of the Israeli enemy aircraft’s bombing of Bahr Al-Baqar Primary School in Al-Husseiniyah Center, north of Al-Sharqiya Governorate, in 1970.

On April 8 of every year, the Egyptian people’s grief is renewed over the heinous crime, which claimed the lives of 19 male and female students and injured 50 others.

It is noteworthy that on the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 1970 AD, at twenty-nine hours, Bahr al-Baqar School was about to enter history as a disaster, as five Israeli F-4 Phantom planes, weighing “1,000 pounds,” bombed the school and destroyed the bodies of the students. The little ones.

The attacks resulted in the death of 19 boys and girls at the time, in addition to 11 civilians, and the number of injured people reached more than 50, including serious cases. A teacher and 11 school workers were injured.

After the accident, the Egyptian government paid compensation to the families of the victims, amounting to 100 pounds for the martyr and 10 pounds for the injured. Some of the children’s belongings and remaining files were collected, as well as the remains of parts of the bombs that bombed the school, all of which were placed in a museum bearing the school’s name.
