Watch: Official Reception of President Sisi at Presidential Palace in Baku

On Saturday, Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi received an official welcome ceremony upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku.

A guard of honor was arranged for the Egyptian President in the square decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

Azerbaijan's President also welcomed President Sisi at the Palace, where the two presidents saluted the guard of honor

The national anthems of Egypt and the Republic of Azerbaijan were played.

Members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to the President of Egypt, while members of the Egyptian delegation were introduced to the President of Azerbaijan.

The guard of honor marched in front of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the accompaniment of a military march.

Later today, El-Sisi is scheduled to hold a meeting with a number of businessmen and heads of major companies in Azerbaijan.

These meetings come within the president’s efforts to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt as well as boost trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, Rady added.

Egypt was among the first countries that recognized the independence of Azerbaijan in December 1991, with the two countries exchanging diplomatic representation in 1992.
