On Saturday, the American Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was perted to Oklahoma City after a nervous passenger attacked the flight attendants and threatened to take down the plane.

According to American reports, passengers used their smartphones to capture the terrifying moment and emergency chute inflated inside their jet as they flew across the states.

The captured videos from the incident show passengers and the aircraft's crew scrambling to restrain the man during his attempt to open the cabin door mid-flight.

In the viral video, the man had repeatedly shouted that he would "take the plane down" and assaulted two female flight attendants, a spokesperson for Oklahoma City Police Department told the American media.

Responding to this incident, one of the passengers on the flight said online: "The nervous passenger then attempted to open the door of the plane.”

The passenger described hearing a loud bang followed by a hissing noise and seeing flight attendants recoil in horror.
