The former Egypt First Football National team coach Rui Vitoria submitted a detailed report about the performance of the Egyptian team in the latest 2023 AFCON, media outlets said on Monday.
Vitoria mentioned in his report that the majority of players suffered from the impacts of the weather and humidity in Ivory Coast which negatively impacted the players, in addition to the injuries that hit various players like Ahmed Nabil Koka, Osama Galal, Mohamed Salah, Mohamed El Shanawy, Emam Ashour, and Omar Marmoush.
Vitoria said that the team was among the teams that created the most chances of goals, and all goals scored in the Egyptian nets were not expected.
Moreover, various players were not in their best condition and performance.
EFA Board of Directors decided to sack Vitoria after the elimination of the Egyptian team from the 2023 AFCON tournament after losing to DR Congo by penalties.
