Virgil van Dijk: Mane Absence to Weaken World Cup

Liverpool and Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk said on Friday that Sadio Mane's absence will weaken the World Cup.

Senegal's Football Association announced that Mane will miss the World Cup due to his injury.

In statements to "Talk Sport," van Dijk expressed his sorrow over Mane's absence.

"World Cup deserve all the best players to show up in the tournament," van Dijk said.

"I am very sorry that Sadio misses the match against us because this World Cup simply deserves the best players, Sadio is one of them," said Van Dijk.

"Sadio is world class, he is my friend and I will miss him."
