In Uzbekistan, the term for discussing the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" has been extended for another 10 days - until July 15, 2022. This was reported by the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (parliament), the deputies considered the issue related to the public discussion of the draft Law.

At the meeting, it was proposed to extend the term for public discussion of the bill for another 10 days - until July 15. This proposal was approved by the majority of deputies.

It was noted that the need to extend the deadlines is due to an increase in the activity of citizens in expressing opinions on the draft constitutional law, as well as an increase in the number of incoming proposals.

Observers believe that the nationwide discussion has increased the sense of ownership of citizens in the political processes taking place in the country.

Public discussion of the draft of the new version of the Constitution of Uzbekistan was originally supposed to end on July 5.
