Uzbekistan Draft Constitutional Law Submitted for Public Discussion

The draft Constitutional Law “On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” has been submitted for nationwide discussion.

The draft was adopted by the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan in the first reading of the plenary session.

A campaign has begun on the ground for a nationwide discussion of the draft law on amendments to the main law of the country. The discussion will last 10 days - from June 25 to July 4, 2022.

It was noted that through electronic platforms, the Constitutional Commission of Uzbekistan received more than 60,000 proposals, which is 10 times more than when developing the current Constitution.

It is expected that further improvement of the bill will serve as an important legal basis and foundation for the well-being of Uzbek people, achieving the goals of sustainable development of Uzbekistan.
