The United States has officially put an end to speculation surrounding the participation of the Iran national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, confirming that all Iranian players have been granted entry visas.
A White House official told Reuters that the full squad has completed all necessary entry procedures, ensuring their smooth participation in the tournament, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
The announcement removes earlier doubts about travel arrangements and potential political complications, confirming that Iran will arrive without restrictions for football’s biggest international event.
Iran national football team are set to compete in Group 7 alongside Egypt, Belgium, and New Zealand, in what is expected to be a highly competitive group.
Iran will now focus fully on their preparations, aiming to deliver a strong performance and progress beyond the group stage in the expanded 48-team World Cup format.
