The US State Department announced today that it will grant Israel $3.5 billion to be spent on American-made weapons and military equipment.

This funding release comes after several months of congressional allocation during Israel's ongoing conflict with Gaza.

A State Department spokesperson informed Congress yesterday of the decision to release foreign military aid funds to Israel.

This move is part of a broader supplemental funding bill valued at $14 billion for Israel, which Congress approved in April.

The allocation of these funds arrives amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza has already resulted in significant casualties and a severe humanitarian crisis.

The situation escalated further following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas's political bureau, in Iran, and Fouad Shukr, a prominent Hezbollah military leader in Beirut.
