The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit China on Sunday, February 5, as a point of the presence of a diplomatic common ground between the two forces.

This visit is the first since 2018, and it symbolizes a lot of political developments globally, according to Politico.

It also targets creating an open discussion between the two states about different common-interest regional and global issues, mainly the war in Ukraine, White House national security spokesman John Kirby said.

Kirby added that talks on a number of issues, and some of them were sidelined as China protested US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.

The US Secretary will seek to get talks "restored and/or revitalized" on the topics of argument.

Kibry explained: "I know he's looking forward to being able to addressing all of those issues and of course the war in Ukraine will be among those issues that we can expect the secretary to bring up while he's there."
