On Friday, the Biden administration offered to join Iran nuclear deal negotiations that were frozen since the Trump administration withdrew from the deal in 2018.

Ned Price, U.S. Department of State Spokesperson stated: 'The United States would accept an invitation from the European Union high representative to attend a meeting of the P5+1 and Iran to discuss a diplomatic way forward on Iran’s nuclear programme.'

The P5+ 1 referred to the five permanent members in the Security Council: U.S., U.K., France, China, and Russia, alongside Germany. All mentioned countries signed the deal alongside Iran.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif responded to the Biden administration offer as he tweeted on Friday: "As soon as we see steps by the United States and Europe to implement their commitments, we will react immediately and return to our commitments."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh asserted: that the "U.S. must act: lift sanctions. We will respond."

During his elections campaign, Biden promised that he will open the door to the U.S. to return its international role once again through reviving its commitments in international organizations and agreements.
