The United States announced fresh sanctions on Wednesday, February 26, targeting six entities based in Hong Kong and China for allegedly being involved in procurement networks supporting Iran’s drone industry.

The move aligns with Washington’s ongoing maximum pressure campaign against Tehran.

According to the US State Department, these entities have been accused of acquiring drone components on behalf of an Iranian company already under US sanctions.

The targeted companies, which include Pishtazan Kavosh Gostar Boshra and its subsidiary Narin Sobh Mobin Isatis, are identified as key suppliers for Iran’s drone and ballistic missile programs.

The US Treasury Department reaffirmed its commitment to disrupting Iran’s weapons procurement efforts, emphasizing that Tehran continues to seek alternative methods for securing critical components.

Officials believe that these sanctioned entities act as intermediaries, enabling Iran to export its drone technology to proxy groups and destabilizing forces.

In response, Chinese authorities have defended their trade relations with Iran, stating that cooperation between the two countries remains lawful.

Beijing has consistently opposed unilateral US sanctions, vowing to protect the rights and interests of Chinese businesses.
