The US Embassy in Cairo is a part of this year's EduGate. The event is a three-day one, and presents educational opportunities. Various US officials participated in the event, including the US Ambassador in Cairo Herro Mustafa Garg. The US officers and exchange program alumni will talk about all the resources the US Embassy has for Egyptian students attending the activities of the event.

During the event, the Spokesperson of the US Embassy Peter Winter told reporters about the role of the US Embassy and its cultural mission in Egypt, he said: "The US Embassy Cairo has an important role in promoting economic growth in Egypt." He added that the United States partners with Egypt and the Egyptian people to propel economic growth by three aspects: "enhancing primary and higher education, protecting cultural heritage as an investment in a thriving tourism industry, and delivering high-quality English language training and job skills to tens of thousands of young Egyptians. In addition, the U.S. Embassy focuses on strengthening educational institutions, developing teaching methods, and expanding technical learning opportunities for all Egyptians."

He also talked about the role of the US Embassy in supporting educational programs in Egypt. He highlighted: "The US has built over 2,000 primary schools in Egypt and trained over 115,000 primary school teachers reaching 5 million children. The US also partnered to establish 19 STEM schools offering advanced skills for students."

Winter continued: "At the same time, we have focused on providing high-quality English language education that enables young Egyptians to compete in the global market. The US Embassy English language programs reach tens of thousands of students and educators across Egypt. U.S. Embassy Cairo has also been instrumental in preparing Egyptian students for their careers. In fact, we brought the concept of career guidance and counseling to public university scholars and graduates. Thanks to a $33 million investment, the United States is establishing 30 Career Centers at 23 public universities that will reach 70 percent of Egyptian public university students."

Regarding the efforts of the US embassy in providing opportunities for students in Egypt to study in the US, the US official explained: "The EducationUSA Center, located at AMIDEAST, provides accurate, comprehensive, and unbiased information about higher educational institutions in the United States. EducationUSA provides educational services, conducts information sessions on higher education, and does individual consultations on studying in the United States."

The US Embassy in Cairo also offers a wide variety of exchange programs. In total, more than 27,000 Egyptians have participated in US government exchange programs, and 450 Egyptians travel to the United States annually on professional and academic exchange programs facilitated by U.S. Embassy Cairo."

Regarding the “EDUGATE” forum, Winter said: "The US Embassy Cairo is happy to participate in EDUGATE again this year. We look forward to meeting thousands of Egyptian students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States and Egypt. We are also excited to talk about all the resources the U.S. Embassy in Cairo has for Egyptian students. Over the three days of EDUGATE, participants will have the opportunity to hear from both U.S. officers and U.S. government-sponsored program alumni.
