US Deputy Secretary of State Tests Positive for COVID-19

US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman announced on Monday that she has tested positive for COVID-19. 

"During the weekend, I tested positive for COVID-19. I have mild symptoms and will be working remotely from home as per CDC guidelines," US official tweeted.

"I am thankful to the US Department of State and the medical team for taking excellent care of me and all our colleagues around the world during this pandemic," she added.

On Wednesday, the White House announced that Ashley Biden, the daughter of US President Joe Biden, had contracted  Coronavirus, “Covid 19,” according to CNN.

US Johns Hopkins University stated that the death toll from the Coronavirus in the United States exceeded one million.

The university believes that such a transgression represents a terrifying milestone for a virus that first appeared in China in late 2019, and killed the first American citizen in early 2020.
