US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin called on Tuesday for an intensified joint commitment to defend Ukraine.
In his tweet, Austin stressed the importance of ensuring Ukraine's ability to defend itself, its citizens and its lands.
Last week, Austin stressed - during a press conference held after the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels - "Our priorities are to support the brave people of Ukraine as they defend themselves for obtaining democracy and sovereignty".
On Monday, The Ukrainian army announced that 33,800 Russian soldiers had been killed since the start of the military operation.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said – in a statement reported by the Ukrenform news agency , that the Ukrainian forces managed to destroy 1,477 tanks, 3,588 armored combat vehicles, 181 helicopters, 601 drones and 130 cruise missiles, noting that its forces succeeded in destroying 2,527 vehicles and fuel tanks, 14 warships, in addition to 55 units of special equipment.
On the other hand, the authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic reported that two people were killed and 6 others were injured as a result of the Ukrainian shelling of the territory of the Republic during the past 24 hours.
