Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Middle East Policy Ambassador Daniel B. Shapiro visited Cairo June 13-14 with a delegation of general officers from the Pentagon and U.S. Central Command.
During the visit, U.S. defense officials met with counterparts from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss ensuring security and stability in the region and underscored the importance of the Egypt-U.S. strategic partnership for promoting security throughout the region.
