US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today, Saturday, that General Michael Kurilla visited Israel to discuss the escalating situation in Syria and other significant issues concerning the Middle East.
According to a statement from CENTCOM, as reported by Al-Hurra, General Kurilla met with Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Air Force Commander Tomer Bar.
The statement highlighted that the leaders deliberated on a range of regional security concerns, including the current developments in Syria and preparations to address strategic and regional threats. It was noted that General Kurilla also visited Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon in recent days.
The announcement comes amid reports of Israel conducting hundreds of airstrikes in Syria, targeting and destroying a substantial portion of Syria's strategic weaponry.
