US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, announced that the US Congress will not interfere in the process of selling a group of nuclear submarines to Australia.
"Congress plays a major role in our system, and we are working on the details," Blinken said, according to Russia Today.
Blinken expressed his confidence that there is strong support from the Republican and Democratic parties and the willingness of Congress to move forward on the issue of approving the sale of nuclear submarines to Australia.
"I fully expect that," the US Secretary of State added.
It is worth noting that Australia is working to strengthen its forces by contracting to purchase nuclear-powered submarines to counter the escalation of tension in the Pacific region due to the increase in Chinese influence in the region in recent years.
