The newly-appointed U.S. ambassador to the United Nations (U.N.) Linda Thomas was sworn in before U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
''I am honored, and beyond humbled, to have been sworn in today by VP Kamala Harris as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations," Thomas tweeted.
"Diplomacy is back. Multilateralism is back. America is back," she added.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate a9nnounced the appointment of veteran diplomat Linda Thomas Greenfield as the U.S. ambassador to the (U.N.).
Earlier, Greenfield pledged to work closely not only with America's foreign partners but to "develop a strong partnership" with lawmakers in Washington to advance a unified agenda.
