Today, Kamala Harris, US Vice President-elect Joe Biden, received the first dose of Moderna vaccine against Coronavirus, which turned into a global pandemic.

"Well, let's do it, that was easy. Thank you, I barely felt it," said Harris as the registered nurse Patricia Cummings of United Medical Center prepared the needle, according to the Daily Mail.

Harris travelled across the Anacostia River to the medical centre in southeast Washington, DC - home to many minority communities. She was asked by a reporter in the room whether she had received the vaccine here intentionally to "Ease the fears of the minority community."

Harris answered, I'm in Anacostia today because we have great and reliable healthcare providers like Nurse Patricia, who serve our community. We also have hospitals, medical centres and clinics like this all over the country and they work with people."

The Vice President added, "I want to remind people that your community is the place, where you can get the vaccine."

She also mentioned that her husband, Doug Emhoff will get his Moderna vaccine later on Tuesday.

She concluded, "This is literally about saving lives. I trust the scientists who created the vaccine and approved it."
