Two men were killed and three others injured in a second shooting outside gatherings mourning loved ones in St. Paul, Minnesota this weekend.

The St. Paul Police Department said the five people were shot in a parking lot shortly after 5 p.m. On Saturday during a quarrel after an event to celebrate life.

One man died at the scene while another man died at the hospital after he was taken there in a private vehicle.

The three, including a man who was in critical condition on Saturday, and two women, were injured, with non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests had been made as of Sunday morning. The names of the victims were not immediately released.

Saturday's shooting came a day after three teens were shot and wounded at the funeral party for a Harding High School student who had been fatally stabbed at the school two weeks earlier.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tweeted Saturday night that "the gun violence in St. Paul this weekend is unacceptable."

Police said there was no evidence the two shootings over the weekend were connected, but St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter said he was outraged by the violence.

We are tired of having this press conference. We are tired of the words “disgusting” and “meaningless” and “frustrating” — and we are tired of having to figure out how to wrap words around violence,” Carter said at a news conference Saturday night.

“When we see events like this tonight, it shakes our sense of security. ; It's just heartbreaking."
